Miss Lindsay is a fox born and raised in Dubuque, Iowa. The eldest of five she had (three sisters and one brother). The acting bug hit Margaret quite early, so she decided to attend the American Academy of Dramatic Arts to pursue her dream. This show us that she knew where to go to get what she was dreaming about. This is the problem with many people today, since they don't know where to go to find themselves. As a result they are never found, but forever lost. You must at least know what you are looking for if you expect to find it. Put another way, it requires a road map, or planning to reach an intended destination, otherwise, you are constantly asking for help and directions to ease your sorry situation. In conclusion, she did not suffer from a change like the wind type of person who never knows what they want to achieve, therefore they never achieve much of anything beyond mere existence in their inner circle. Unable to find work in New York she traveled to London to refine her speech and acting study. Thus, she gained more sophistication sort of like making it shine. After a few minor roles she was later signed with Warner Brothers. She was gracefully featured opposite some of Hollywood's big stars Leslie Howard, Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. and Humphrey Bogart. As a second-lead she appeared opposite James Cagney and, later, Bette Davis, too. She is sister to actress Jane Gilbert. A good friend of actress Thelma Todd. Unfortunately, she died a little too young at the age of 70 in Los Angeles of emphysema in the spring of 1981. I imagine this had something to do with smoke, not smoked meats...

Margaret Lindsay was an American film actress. Her time as a Warner Bros. contract player during the 1930's was particularly productive. She was noted for her supporting work in successful films of the 1930's and 1940's such as Jezebel (1938) and Scarlet Street (1945) and her lead roles in lower budgeted B-movie films such as the Ellery Queen series at Columbia in the early 1940's. Born as Margaret Kies of Dubuque, Iowa, she was the oldest of five children of a pharmacist father who died in 1930 before her Hollywood career began. According to Tom Longden of the Des Moines Register, "Peg" was "a tomboy who liked to climb pear trees" and was a "roller-skating fiend".
